The Waiting

Tom Petty said the waiting is the hardest part. Tom Petty is a genius.

David said...

"We wait in hope for the Lord: He is our help and our shield"

(Ps. 33:20)

Isaiah said...

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength."

(Isa. 40:31)

I think it's safe to say that we are all tired of waiting. Amen?

Because waiting is hard.

Waiting takes strength.

Waiting takes faith.

God wants to use our time, talents, and treasures.

And He also wants to use our waiting.

The psalmist advised:

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord" (Psalm 27:14).

Waiting on the Lord brings strength.

Sometimes to move.

Sometimes to act.

Sometimes to wait.

Abraham waited 25 years for a son.

Moses hid and waited in Midian for 40 years.

Israel turned an eleven day journey into 40 years of wandering and waiting.

And God was teaching all of them something the entire time.

God was preparing them for the next thing.

God is doing that to you right now.

So…What are you waiting for?

A return to what once was or a start of a new adventure?

God never lets a season of waiting go to waste..

Neither should we.

What is God teaching you in the “waiting?”
